At We Media Miami I was able to sit and talk with Lova Rakotomalala, one of the coordinators of the FOKO Madagascar blog outreach program. We recorded this brief interview in which Lova describes the genesis of FOKO and how the organization plans on fulfilling its mission.

Hey Lova,
The vegetation in the background made me think for a sec that you were back home.
Great job explaining what we guys at Foko are about.
Congrats, Lova and David. Glad to see the grant came to fruition.

Thanks for everything you and FOKO do Lova!
Too bad about the giant vacuum cleaner (?) in the background :-)
Hi,
“Foko” doesn’t mean “a village” but “a group” (“clan” un french), so the word “FOKONOLONA” means “a group of people’ (FOKO=Group + OLONA=People, men…)
Thanks,
Nice setting and very informative interview with Lova. Congratulations to the Foko group for their work.
