As part of our Rising Voices in Egypt [1] initiative, which is made possible with funding from the Heinrich Böll Foundation – Regional Office Middle East [2], we commissioned three videos that would provide a closer look at each of the projects. Egyptian filmmaker Mahmoud Saber [3]and his team recently completed the three videos which we will publish here on the Rising Voices website.
For these three videos, we also utilized the Universal Subtitles [4] platform to add subtitles in English. The collaborative platform allows for additional languages to easily be added, and we invite readers to add subtitles in additional languages.
The second video features the Mokattam Blog Tales [5] project led by Nesma Gewily, who has been working with young people from the Mokattam area of Cairo with storytelling and photography workshops.
