“Los Inespertos,” the training workshops on digital audio and radio tools that have been taking place at the Neuropsychiatric Hospital in Córdoba, Argentina resumes its activities in the coming weeks with renewed energy following summer vacations.

But first, we would like to share with you some of the images and memories from the end of the year closing activities from 2013. For this celebration, there were activities from a plaza in the city of Córdoba, including an open radio broadcast, music, and a gathering of workshop participants, who shared their experiences and what they learned over the course of the previous year, as well as their hopes for the coming year.

In this audio podcast, you can hear the thoughts from the project participants. (Translated transcript below):

Greetings to all of our friends from the Global Voices community.

Some of the voices from the participants translated in the transcript from the audio podcast:

“Rising, workshops for the inexperienced”

“Learning about the tools of the radio operation, upload files, how to download music, connect the equipment, computer, microphone handling, social networkings, how to record one's voice, improve the conditions so that more people have access to this knowledge.”

“We all have a need to communicate and to express something, these technical radio resources transformed in something very useful for those purposes.”

“This workshop for me… has helped me, I didn't know much about computers, I didn't know how to download a website. I learned a lot this year. I am a little stubborn about these things.”

“There are no recipes for learning how to make radio.”

2“I like the interviewing and everything about the dialogue, but I also know that it is a challenge for me.”

“I am very happy when I come here.”

“I think that beyond the workshops, we are making friends and mutually helping one another, I don't want to leave and that we're all together this coming year.”

“This coming year I want to learn how to become a (radio) operator, how to connect the equipment, and to make an interview”

“The expectations are to meet the goals that the participants can become more involved and can follow the roles that others have individually, as a way to democratize (the radio).”

“I think we all have an important need to express ourselves after being silent for many years, because of that I would like to thank Rising Voices.”
