This profile post is about Marisol Mena Antezana (@chaskakanchariq) and what she plans to discuss during her week as hostess.

Rising Voices (RV): Please tell us about yourself.

Marisol Mena Antezana natural de Pampallacta, Aymaraes, Apurimac, Perú. Mi trabajo es

• la docencia de educación intercultural bilingüe

mi labor intercultural es el fortalecimiento del quechua en distintas plataformas cogiendo la producción literaria tanto como humor, reflexión y poemarios en el idioma apoyado en el trabajo en medios de comunicación.

My name is Marisol Mena Antezana, I am a native of Pampallacta, from Aymaraes, Apurimac, in Peru. I am a:

• bilingual intercultural educator
• bilingual communicator of Quechua – Spanish
• Quechua language activist via Quechua memes, and Sentimiento Quechua

My intercultural work focuses on strengthening Quechua on different platforms, with literary works, as well as humor, reflections, and poems, supporting the efforts to spread the language in media.

RV: What is the current status of your language on the internet and offline?

Actualmente mi idioma a tomado mucho realce a nivel nacional e internacional frente al apoyo de medios para su impulso ya existe muchos activistas en distintos temas impulsando el idioma, pero fuera de linea aun hay mucho que trabajar en las generaciones nuevas de enseñarles este legado aun en la realidad esta débil se necesita formar una matriz de consistencia bien fija para garantizar la prevalencia en el tiempo del idioma.

Currently, with the support of media, there has been a national and international focus on my language, and there are many activists on different issues regarding the language. But offline there is still much work to be done, teaching the new generations about this legacy, even though it is still weak. It is necessary for a consistent effort in order to guarantee the survival of the language over time.

RV: On what topics do you plan to focus during the week that you’ll manage the @ActLenguas Twitter account?

• reflexiones y testimonios de hablantes y como vincular ello para el trabajo de activismo.

I plan to focus on language familiarization, based on real experiences of the speakers:

• share the experience that one has as an activist in media such as radio and TV.
• reflections and testimonies of speakers and how to link these to activism.
• current use of the language.

RV: What are the main motivations for your digital activism for your language? What are your hopes and dreams for your language?

La motivación es que las nuevas generaciones se eduquen en un enfoque de su realidad cultural para que se adentren en otras culturas, mi lengua materna y sus hablantes son mi mayor motivación a que puedan darse cuenta de lo valioso de su cultura. mis sueños es la institucionalización del idioma en la enseñanza en las instituciones educativas, formar un canal tv y radio en mi lengua materna.

My motivation is the new generations to be educated in their own culture, to understand its place among other cultures. I am motivated by my mother tongue and its speakers, and I hope they will be able to realize the value of their culture. My dream is for my language to be taught in educational institutions, and to establish a TV channel and radio in my mother tongue.
