Longtime Rising Voices grantee Repacted from Nakuru, Kenya continues its work in surrounding communities using magnet theater as a way to engage the community, and youth especially, through dramatic interpretations that present real-life situations involving health issues such as HIV/AIDS and TB. One of these team members, Maurine, was recently interviewed about her work and how Repacted has helped her tell her story.

Exploring Taboos: At the Million Woman March

Many Egyptians continue to promote the expansion of rights for women in post-Mubarak Egypt. One participant in the Exploring Taboos project wrote about his participation in the Million Woman March held on March 8, 2011, and which attracted rival protests and harassment from those that did not agree with the demands.

Each of the selected projects will receive microgrants to implement their proposed project to teach others how to use various citizen media tools.
