Zara Rahman is a researcher and information activist, based in Berlin, Germany. She is the Research Lead at the engine room, a non profit organisation working to support the effective use of data and technology in social change. She has worked in over 25 countries, and enjoys observing varying cultural responses to different technologies. Zara is fascinated by the relationship between technology and power structures, and co-hosts a podcast, Collusion, on this topic. She writes for Global Voices on digital rights issues in Bangladesh, and blogs regularly about technology, activism and feminism.
