The project aims at sensitizing and training the NGOs in our region about the importance of sharing the information through the use of digital and social media. An official page on social media will be created with information about NGOs in the city and their activity, such as: training opportunities, vacancies, calls for collaboration between interested organizations. The sense of volunteerism among young people will be cultivated.

Pogradec
Describe the specific community with whom you will be working.
30 NGO in Pogradec city: They are small organizations. They need more capacities, more information and more visibility to the wider public. They do not have a webpage, a blog or a facebook page. Through this idea they will be trained to use social media and encouraged to open an official address through digital media and become more visible.
Final beneficiaries will be the community: more informed and more involved in the city life.
What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
A blog page will be created. It will contain the most important news for the network of NGOs in our city: events, trainings opportunities, workshops, important contacts, telephones, addresses, dedicated to the community and young people. More information about city life, City Council meetings, and the decisions made there will be offered. The Page will be an opportunity for the community to make comments, suggestions and become active citizens.
What technologies and digital tools do you plan to use in the trainings?
Describe the connections that you or your organization have already established that will contribute to the success of the project.
“Une, Gruaja” has a very good collaboration with the NGOs in the city. It has already functioned as an informal information “center”, giving them materials and online information. Through this project UG will strengthen the capacities of NGOs to become more active in social media, expand their connections, create a network of information and increase their visibility. UG volunteers will assist them to continue with this idea and become active.
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
The participants will be 10-15 representatives from the most active NGOs in the city. We will select the participants, who are more determined to take part. These individuals will be trained about the importance of the social media, and how to open and maintain blog page. After the training session these individuals will design a blog and they will select two more active people who will maintain it and upload the information send by them.
Besides the microgrant funding, what other resources and support are you seeking for your project to ensure its success?
Rising Voices could provide UG and the volunteers with more professional support, materials about opening a website, info on programs needed to open a professional web page, and models of social media.
UG will support the project with the needed infrastructure: training room; PC; beamer; internet, etc. Also we will engage the volunteers to help the NGOs built their own pages (facebook, tweeter, blog), according to their requests and needs.
