This project aims at enabling 30 youths to use Learning 2.0 to aware their peers for the importance of youth political engagement in the frame of the 2013 National Elections. The participants that will successfully complete the training will create their own project by using their gained skills. The project should be an awareness message to enhance youth voting. A youtube channel will be created & the most voted project will win the first place.

Describe the specific community with whom you will be working.
Youths aged from 18-25, which aren’t a community underrepresented online, but have lack of using ICT and specifically Learning 2.0 for awareness raising purposes. There is no evidence of such training for youths in Albania. Youths can advance their technology learning and see social media as a new channel where to be educated and also exercise their talents. It’s important to start using new tools to promote youth participation in elecections.
What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
This project aims to enable youth using Learning 2.0 strategies for peer to peer education purposes. To involve youths in the Learning 2.0 and present case studies where e-participation can be used for promoting youth civic and political engagement. Youth will use ICT and personal blogs as a tool to raise awareness with regard to youth political participation in elections by creating their own digital video or similar content for this purpose.

During January and February the Center has organized 3 meetings with youths from the faculties of Social Sciences and Economics. Interest was shown for the goal and objectives of the organization and the youths expressed their interest in participating in future activities of the organization. Contacts has been established with public and private Universities in Tirana that has shown an interest on social media tools and web 2.0 technologies.
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
30 youths will participate in the online training which will start with a call for application. The application will include submitting a form with personal and professional history and a motivation letter. Participants will be sustained by providing continuous support and mentorship during the preparation of the e-participation project and motivated by a first prize that will include an iPad and publicity of their project through online channels
