Argentina: Mapping the Water Landscape

We are a network of volunteers working on humanitarian issues and ICT´s. Our goal is to give visibility and voice to communities in the provinces of Santa Fe and Chaco through of social and participatory mapping. Specifically we want to trace the route and the landscape of the problem of access to drinking water and its implications

  • I have just read your project and its sound really great regarding the issues it is addressing. I think I like the idea of establishing environmental journalist. This is an aspect most communities in developing countries lack making reports about the environmental or on environmental projects very poor and difficult to understand by the commonest people.
    Cudos!

This is a wonderful proposal. As someone involved in mapping technologies I am excited about the outcome. I have a question which is how will users map? Can they use a text code or a voice app to map the water bodies?
    All the best.

    • Hi Shibayan, nice to know about that! Well, the short code is difficult to work sometimes. About voice app, yes maybe..initially, using voice recordings (traditional form w/digital recorder) and uploading them to the platform. But, is very interesting your point about “voice app”, keep in mind that. Thanks
