Radio Los Inestables attempts to train the project participants in the use digital tools in order to increase their active participation and self-management in every stage of broadcast production. To achieve this, we will provide workshops to teach them how to record and edit audio recordings. We will also give them trainning and mentoring in the use of social networks, so they will be able to share their productions with the broader community.

What locality or neighborhood will your project focus on?
Córdoba
Describe the specific community with whom you will be working.
We will be -and now we are- working with psychiatric patients of a public mental hospital. They are an underrepresented community because “crazy people's” voices have been traditionally censored and not heard. Besides, most of them are in situation of poverty and social vulnerability, aggravated by their involuntary confinement. All these obstacles prevent them from getting access to digital ctizen media or any other media of communication.
What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
There will be created audio podcasts with: debates about issues which affect the participants; radio dramas about daily situations; poems and songs (made by themselves or particularly chosen to express what they want to communicate); local news analyzed from their own point of view. These audios will be recorded and edited by the participants, and they will upload them in the digital online space in order to share them in social networks.
What technologies and digital tools do you plan to use in the trainings?
Describe the connections that you or your organization have already established that will contribute to the success of the project.
The connections already established are Radio Sur, Radio La Quinta Pata and Radio Revés, which have already supported and mentored the radio's coordinators in recording and editing audio, and now could give support by training the other participants. We also plan to establish connections with the hospital's Informatic Workshop in order to accede to the computers and have ongoing support and mentoring in the use of social networks.
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
We will train 15 participants of Radio Los Inestables who have been having an active participation for 3 years and have already demanded training in technical skills so they could carry out some activities that are currently up to the coordinators. It may also encourage their participation the fact that this project could help them to learn a trade and to develop training skills to teach others, increasing the impact of this proposal.
Besides the microgrant funding, what other resources and support are you seeking for your project to ensure its success?
Rising Voices could help our project to facilitate connections between our local productions and other groups working around the same issues, by including them in global conversation online. Your organization can also facilitate online tutorials so we can improve our knowledge in the use of digital media, and give us information about other open-sources and free tools so our marginalized community can use more inclusive citizen media to be Heard.
