Foster discussion forums at the Teenage Education Units in Riberalta to promote teenage pregnancy prevention through social networks and workshops like: Life Projects, Self-Esteem, Values, Reproductive Sexual Health, Family Planning, Contraceptive Methods, Sexual Rights, STDs/VIH Prevention.
What locality or neighborhood will your project focus on?
Describe the specific community with whom you will be working.
Riberalta is a city with little internet access (it's bad and pricy). Most of the teenagers and young people don't have an email, let alone access to social networks.
Working with teenagers and youngsters of the Education Units is a unique opportunity to promote access to social networks & new technologies as well as raising awareness of teenage pregnancy prevention in a high risk population (1 daily birth among girls age 10-18 according SEDES)
What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
Education Units on the internet, social networks and other topics.
Put together social network groups to discuss the topics.
Design a blog to publish the most compelling opinions and foster social interaction.
Spot, video and picture publishing with prevention messages.
What technologies and digital tools do you plan to use in the trainings?
Describe the connections that you or your organization have already established that will contribute to the success of the project.
PROSALUD has an education project in Riberalta that deals with the topics we discussed with education units. My proposal is to take these discussions, analysis and prevention efforts to a common interest space for youngster like social networks.
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
We'll do a test with 100 leaders from the Education Units with capability to replicate the topics to other 500 persons from their education surroundings.
Besides the microgrant funding, what other resources and support are you seeking for your project to ensure its success?
The project needs funding for internet and social networks training for 100 leaders of the Educaiton Units and its temporary follow- up.
