This is a survivor driven public education project to use frequently used trafficking recruitment scams to empower children susceptible to trafficking to stay safe. 25 passionate young activists shall be trained to use podcast, blogs and sms to share true life stories on child trafficking and exploitation in domestic servitude, street hawking, street begging & commercial sex industry as a way of deterring others from falling prey to trafficking.

Describe the specific community with whom you will be working.
Survivors of child trafficking and other children trapped in child work as domestic servants, street hawker and street beggars in Bamenda shall be trained to share their stories with their community and empower children susceptible to trafficking to know and manage recruitment scams. It shall also raise awareness amongst adults who patronize child slaves on the city streets to be more aware of child slavery and exploitation and engage to stop it.
What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
Stories on recruitment techniques used by traffickers, methods of exploitation and common signs note on abused children shall be shared to inform the public and help to reduce the community ignorance on issues of child work that are hardly reported by main stream media. True life stories of victims and survivors shall future on blogs and podcast and serve for advocacy.
What technologies and digital tools do you plan to use in the trainings?

GLOWA animates school based youth clubs in five schools in Bamenda with 15 survivors undergoing rehabilitation. 11 rehabilitated survivors presently operate small scale businesses initiatives. These shall provide 25 passionate youths to be trained to use both online and available resources in GLOWA to share their stories. GBHS Bamenda that is one of the five schools we animate youths in shall provide an It teacher.
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
25 youths to be selected from our group of past and present beneficiaries including members of school based clubs will engage as citizen journalist. Participation in the project shall be integrated as part of our vocational training program and also engages trainees in public education. Survivors shall be additionally motivated by the idea of having access to the computer like their normal peers.
Besides the microgrant funding, what other resources and support are you seeking for your project to ensure its success?
Most of our target trainees have very poor educational background requiring a well simplified training program to fully engage them. We are also looking for a simplified training curriculum in citizen media adapted to the needs of slow learners from one of our partners schools.
