Z press is also the name of the portal, which is the platform of the project itself. It is a portal into the Zagorje region of Croatia, which has only 130,000 inhabitants. Our goal is to set foot on an independent platform that will serve as a place where residents can express their problems. The portal is designed for supporting the sport and culture, as well as encouraging people to expose the corruption and injustice in the local community.
What locality or neighborhood will your project focus on?

Z press portal service for all age groups, but we are more oriented to the young members of our society. The operation of the portal may include all those who have something to write and share with others. Portal is required to follow the works of civil societies and sports associations which is our main focus.
What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
Associates will create content that is oriented toward demonstrating the creative potential of the local community. Contents will, along with sporting and cultural, also be of social nature. In terms of asking questions to local authorities, local politicians and entrepreneurs. Citizens, especially young people will be able to practice their journalistic skills, but also to participate in civil society.

Z press portal is issued by a civic association „Z mreza“ (Z Network). During its existence are funded by donations of small tradesmen. Members of the association are all working their other jobs, and the portal serves as a place for fighting for the rights and the voice of the „little man.“ In order for portal to functione better, so we can redesign and become more interactive, we need donations. How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
In the last year through on our project worked twenty young people who wrote articles, photographed and are actively involved in the operation of the portal. We expect that each year the number of employees who work on the site to be about twenty more. But the impact on the local community is even more important than that, because besides training our young people and we raise awareness of the civil society.
Besides the microgrant funding, what other resources and support are you seeking for your project to ensure its success?
Besides the microgrant we would us some DSLR cameras that we would give to our co-workers and a few small, portable computers.
