What locality or neighborhood will your project focus on?
Quito
Describe the specific community with whom you will be working.
There will be three target groups: taxi drivers; people from the local market; local football leagues. These groups are very representative in our neighborhood but they don´t have a voice and most of them don´t have much TIC training. The three of them are keen to participate in the project and because they have some organization we can guarantee their participation.
Our office is in la Floresta as well and has 6 computers to train them
What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
In the 60´s alphabetization programs used photography as a way of education, as a way of expression of emotions, problems, way of life and singularities.
By the pictures, population will express themselves and after a TIC training they will be able to put their work on the internet (social media, blogs) and doing a public exposition.
They will answer: where do I live, what are the problems of my neighborhood, family, community, job
What technologies and digital tools do you plan to use in the trainings?
Describe the connections that you or your organization have already established that will contribute to the success of the project.
The wealth of la Floresta is that there are several artistic spaces and a strong local population, this project pretend to connect both spaces.
We count with several supports in la Floresta: Ocho y medio (local alternative cinema); Incine (cinema and acting college); neighborhood committee; Paradocs; Cafolis and Acción creativa as a member of Infodesarrollo.
These associations can bring publicity and spaces to do local events without a problem
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
We will do at least two training with each target group having between 6 and 10 people for group, so we expect to train around 60 people having the possibility of replicate with other groups because we will have the material and Infodesarrollo has a space with 6 computers.
Participants will have access to the materials and the computers all the time and Infodesarrollo will support the process.
Besides the microgrant funding, what other resources and support are you seeking for your project to ensure its success?
The microgrant will be used for buying cameras and paying for the teachers, these materials are quite expensive so it would be a good contribution to have the cameras, like that we could train more people.
Also it will be very positive to receive some information about similar experiences and we could use some help publicising our experience.
