Describe the specific community with whom you will be working.
The workshop is for women and men under 30 speakers Mixtec language, mostly engaged in fishing or poultry, they use the Internet primarily to communicate with family migrants.
Drug trafficking in Mexico has come to isolate people due to violence and deaths on the roads, the lack of jobs is causing a strong migration to the U.S., resulting in a loss of speakers in that language and cultural identity.
With 2185 people “El Ciruelo” has only one computer center with 4 computers with internet access, they do not have an online community that represents this group of African descent who is considered the third root of Mexican and Latin American culture
What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
This workshop seeks to rescue photos, audios and historical texts that preserve the people for collective reconstruction of its history, the rescue of the oral tradition, stories and reports of their traditions and photo essays about daily life especially in their in their original language Mixtec
“El ciruelo” as other peoples of America has a great influence African biological and cultural, was founded by African slaves settled on the coast during the Spanish conquest, this heritage has been ignored and now revalued and recognized as “the third root” tell this part of the story that has not been told is the responsibility of the people and a main objective of this project

Our first encounter with this community was in 2008 where they performed a storytelling workshop to generate reflections on identity and multiculturalism of peoples. In the “Encuentro de Pueblos Negros”
Currently we have provided the participation of some members of the community for the implementation of this project in the computer center located in the Municipal Library, the collaboration of Father Glyn Jemmott also main promoter of black identity in the village and XETLA local broadcast through “La Voz de la Mixteca” public radio indigenous communities that covers the entire coastal region of Oaxaca
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
We are considering a training of 40 people divided into two groups with different schedules to start the workshop
Maintain its assistance thanks to the level where they engage the participants in this workshop, because there is no better incentive than the opportunity to tell their own story and that of his family.
This sense of ownership and responsibility were generated to understand that they themselves no longer consume ideas and information that will now be exclusively and generators of information, discussion and debate about who and what has been their resistance to homogeneity

I have the experience of five years dedicating myself to community journalism and teaching writing workshops, using free software for multimedia editing in various districts of Mexico, I'm a sociologist at the Metropolitan Autonomous University, our work for the democratization of the media has managed spaces in national and local radio stations

the space in which the workshop will be taught is the municipal library, is a space measuring 120meters , the building is brick and earthenware
this space has enabled a library of general interest books are five working groups as well as chairs for them and a white board
The space has five computers with Internet access through a modem connection with a speed ADSL 3Mbps,
What is your current relationship with the community with whom you plan to work? What makes you the most appropriate individual or organization to implement this project?
Currently have communication with the community through the planning of future projects for the expansion of the municipal library, but we have good grounds for their work in 2008 giving workshops in storytelling “black people meet”
“La Otra Mirada” Civil Association nonprofit dedicated to the promotion and dissemination of culture, as a human right, we are community journalists who have dedicated ourselves to providing workshops in different districts of the country, means for generating community as magazines, bulletin boards, podcast, to rescue the local cultural identity, the claim of communities, the promotion of reading and writing, and public participation in the generation of information
What specific challenges do you expect to face when planning and implementing your project?
Promote among students the democratic decision-making to solve problems that arise during the delivery of the workshops or projects and respect for thinking differently
equity plus number of women and men's participation in the workshops this matter could conflict with the patriarchal traditions of the community, but we expected this with previous experience and we have the support of important people in the community both religious and governing board of residents
The security team is equally responsible for the community

-Measure through visits to the impact blog
-to map participants who file blog in other communities or countries as speakers found on USA as migrants
