Bolivia: Shooting Bolivia from Wikimedia Commons

Multimedia material of Bolivia within Wikimedia Commons are few. There are no images, audios or videos of historical places or towns and cities. In Bolivia, there are several groups of people interested in multimedia who share their work through social media, but these photos are not shared under a free license. The most frequent reason is that they do not know how to use these type of licenses. We will show them how to do this.

The project aims is to recover and promote Bésiro (native language), and the collective memory of the Monkox† through the use of TIC´s (digital technology’s). All of this with a methodology of collective creation related to social vindications and peoples self-determination. We will work in workshops and then create 3 platforms: one virtual (Fb, blogs, etc); another local (trough Chiquitano radios, schools) and the last one would be nationwide.

Bolivia: Leaders Promoting Nonviolence

This project is an initiative to promote and encourage non-violence in the town of Sorata (capital of the 1st Section) using: phones, social networks, digital photographs, to have leaders that promote non-violence, prevention and reduction of this practice, and promote the culture of peace, establishing an information network.

Bolivia: Jovenes de Uspha-Uspha

The project aims to establish an online network of the community Uspha-Uspha. Initially it will be used to promote activities led by youths from the community within the sports and arts program of Proyecto Horizonte. In time we aim to establish a digital photo/video and story-telling forum where the community can share information about upcoming and past activities, the life in Uspha-Uspha and to connect with other communities worldwide.

Bolivia: Recovering Millenarian Memory in Comics Using Smart Phones

The idea of the project is to work with youth indigenous people for recovery the millenarian history of our past, creating comics for an interactive interface developed for android smart phones. We want to make a place were youth people can transform legends, told by the ancient from the community's, to histories and comics in the way to contribute with creating content for tell our history.

Poverty and discrimination are aggressive obstacles shoeshiners face against the respect of their dignity and rights. Hormigón Armado The Shoeshinners Newspaper gives them a voice through printed media exposing their dignified, legitimate and sacrificed contribution to the war on poverty. Amplifying ourselves digitally we could significantly increase our demand of respect and pro-active solidarity towards them from society and local authorities.

I'd like to record (photo, video and sound) small groups of people that live near to the city (El Alto – An Andean City). They are cualified because they (older than sixty) live up to now, thanks to their native music. In other words, my ancestors keep our native culture thanks to the native music and they can teach us. I hope to accomplish these native groups share (through interactive communication) their reasons, characteristics, symbology.
