Brazil: Engaging Voices of Favela's Youth

The project aims to train underprivileged youth from the favelas of Rio de Janeiro to become citizen journalists by documenting issues that surround them, via posting blogs, short videos or images to the VO1CE website. Participants will take workshops in writing, video recording and photography as a prerequisite. The goal is to empower voices that are often disfranchised and give them interactive space to share their ideas and advocate solutions.

Brazil: Urban Look

The central focus is the perception of the youth about their community. The goal is to unite culture, information and technology to the young person has the necessary instruments to look into your reality, and observers of themselves and society that harbors. From themes such as citizenship, social identity, technology, education filming his community as a “start” to reflect on themselves and what they do for themselves.

Brazil: Beyond the Gaze

Tell the history of community through the emblematic figures of popular culture. Open spaces to communicate and discuss our traditions and aspects like popular religiosity, alternative and holistic medicine, exploring founders miths and the constrution of narratives. Support members of community with training to use your gadgets, like cell phones or digital cameras, to produce content for internet (basically video and photography).

Brazil: Reintegrate

The main objective of the project is to promote the social reintegration of homeless people who have already received our care and are in rehabilitation. Adults who have experienced addiction treatment clinic and are steadying their steps in the reconstruction of their dignity. Supporting them through the autonomy and professionalism, we aim to give them the opportunity to tell their success story and encourage others to leave the streets

Brazil: Voices of Freedom

This project expects to develop activities related to citizen media training, especially focused to young people, as a way of prevention of social exclusion and, consequently, eradication of contemporary slave labor, unhappily, a very common crime in our region. We want to carry out a workshop for 15 teenagers that will learn about digital tools such as blog and micro-video for social denounce. Products that will be divulged trough Internet.
