Cambodia: The Cambodian Grassroots Social Media Project

The proposal is to develop a social media training program for community-based organizations and grassroots activists working on human rights in Cambodia, with the long-term objective being to increase the amount of information related to human rights that is shared domestically and internationally. The training will include a hard and soft-copy toolkit designed to impart the know-how and tools to create successful and compelling citizen media.

Phillippines: Citizen Documentation of Urban Poor Communities

The project will conduct video-photography training in 3 selected urban poor (UP) communities in the Philippines. Community members trained by citizen media practitioners will document their condition and struggle. Striking photos and videos will be used in online campaigns and exhibits in the communities and supportive institutions. This is to project the dire living condition and gain public support for their collective actions and campaigns.

Indonesia: Alternative Education for Children of Fishermen

We have a value on which we hold on to and which has driven us this far. We believe that natural resources preservation can only be realizable when social awareness has been built. However, it is inevitable that this awareness can only works when social welfare is attained. Therefore, in our village which is predominated by fishermen and farmers, we have tried our maximum effort to provide free services to initiate and enhance knowledge.

Indonesia: Stand Up for Muslim Transgender

This project wants to train transgender people who join in Muslim transgender community to use digital media to gain awareness that you could be transgender and serve Allah (God). It enables them to create blogs and short documentary about how they practice Islam as a transgender and how they experience and tackle negative stereotypes from Muslim neighborhood. It is expected to leverage understanding that being LGBTQ is compatible with Islam

Indonesia: From Disable for Disable Project

This project has two main stages: 1) Providing people with disabilities to use citizen media and enabling them to conduct training to transfer this skill to their peers. 2) Delivering citizen media training from and for people with disability. It gives opportunity to those who were participating in the first stage to exercise their skills and produce an advocacy video to reach policy makers and those who will compete in the 2014 election.

Cambodia: Rights for Renters

Poor individuals and families renting accommodation in Phnom Penh document their lives using digital media. Although amongst the poorest city dwellers, renters are currently excluded from policy initiatives directed at the urban poor. This project aims to both document the lives of renters, as well as show how important they are for the city. Project outputs: narratives, photos, video, blog, exhibition as part of the annual Our City Festival.

Phillipines: Enhancing Children's Capacities for Advocacy

The project will increase awareness and improve access of at least 200 working children/ youth -at-risk in Metro Manila (Philippines) on child rights, child protection, climate change and basic education through the Alternative Learning System- eSkwela program. An Instructional Manager/ Peer Facilitator will facilitate discussion fora and other web and computer-based activities on child rights advocacy and on various issues that affect them.

Thailand: Mekong ICT Camp 2013

We have committed to the ICT capacity development for the talents and organizations in the sub-region to make sure the sub-region's abilities are kept abreast with other parts of the world and can serve for the collective objectives for social development from the NGO and nonprofit sector as a whole.

Philippines: Pegsalabuk Subanen Tribal Interaction

Our organization Pegsalabuk Subanen Inc. primary aim is to unite all Subanen communities within the four (4) provinces Mis. Occ., Zamboanga Del Norte, Zamboanga Del Sur, and Zamboanga Sibugay. It is very imperative for us to set up communication center possibly in all tribal barangay in order to update our co-tribal members on progress and development and all on going projects that we will introduce and all projects from the gov't for the tribe.
