The Savannah Echoes is a Citizen Media Toolkit Outreach Project that seeks to empower the Sakogu community of Northern Ghana to develop a community citizen media strategy comprising of a toolkit of:pod casting,Blogging/Micro blogging.Mapping,YouTube and Flickr.
This citizen media toolkit will enable it have an active online representation to highlight it's climate change challenges, it's interventions and learn new intervention approaches.

Sakogu
Describe the specific community with whom you will be working.
Sakogu is an Indigenous community inhabited by the minority Mamprusi ethnic group and located in Northern Ghana.
It has not been exposed to the unique value of the internet,citizen media and not recognized in the traditional media.They therefore use traditional communication mediums eg: talking drums,”lunga” etc.
I am happy to work with the community to introduce it to the value of citizen media to give them an active voice online.
What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
The content to be produced will include: the rich culture,arts and history of the Sakogu community,the rich savannah ecology,the threats of climate change,the community's climate change mitigation interventions, climate change Adaptive Agriculture,it's Tourism attractions, the uncovered Human Right Abuses, etc.
The participants will produce citizen media outputs such as:Podcast,Blogs, Maps,Digital videos,Digital photographs and micro blogs.
What technologies and digital tools do you plan to use in the trainings?
Describe the connections that you or your organization have already established that will contribute to the success of the project.
I and my organization the Savannah Young Farmers Network are already working in the community in the area of:Advocacy,Civic engagement,Climate change awareness etc.
The organization has also developed a working partnership with internet service providers,the Regional ICT training center,Access to citizen media training materials from UNITAR etc.
These existing community engagement and partnership development will make the project a success.
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
500 participants will be trained from the Sakogu community on the Citizen Media Toolkit by the Savannah Echoes Project.
Their participation will be sustained through sensitization on:success stories of citizen media for individual and community development,the use of an ultra modern ICT training center,provision of all the technical materials needed for the training,make the training entertaining and fun,mentoring,refreshment etc.
Besides the microgrant funding, what other resources and support are you seeking for your project to ensure its success?
The Rising voice can provide mentoring during the various stages of the projects implementation to ensure it's success.
Also, the Rising Voice can provide adequate Networking and Widespread publicity of the citizen media outputs/content that will be created by the participants to enable the project achieve it's intended objectives.
