The Project focus is on female feticide, which is one extreme manifestation of violence against women. Female embryos or fetuses are selectively eliminated after prenatal sex determination, thus avoiding even the birth of girls. Project will use the following tools digital photography, digital video and mapping. The project will achieve preventing declining sex ratio in Tamil Nadu and protect the rights of women.

The campaign against selective a sex determination is not part of the Campaign against abort. The right to abortion must remain as a essential rights of women, a right to determine their life, their body and fertility convention on the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women. The declining sex ratio is a danger and PNDT Act (Prenatal Diagnostic Techniques Act).

Literates Welfare Association is connected with Campaign Against Sex Selective Abortion (CASSA) is a state level campaign body constituted by social Action groups, woman's union, Human rights groups, advocates, Educationalists, Researches, professionals from various fields for the purpose of stopping sex selection medical practices and preventing the declining sex ratio in TamilNadu.
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
The participants will ensured through education, research, documentation, networking, advocacy and lobbying and facilitating grass root initiatives. 1500 women self help groups will trained on this project and becoming a member of the campaign. Helping the Campaign in raising awareness on declining sex ratio, PNDT Act and girl child rights.
Besides the microgrant funding, what other resources and support are you seeking for your project to ensure its success?
Besides the micro grant funding, the other resources and support on Rising Voices for our project through Network groups, Computer Technologies, Well Wishers, Lions clubs, and community based groups will support for this project.
