What locality or neighborhood will your project focus on?
Describe the specific community with whom you will be working.
Indigenous (STs) and untouchables (SC), the most marginlaised communities in Odisha, are subject to victims of regular discriminations, deprivations , exploitations and human rights violations. Particularlly, SC and ST women are more vulnerable to physical and sexual violence. Mostly, cases are not documented properly, which damages the possibilities of ensuring justice to them. 30 Defenders working for these women will be strengthened.
What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
Fact-finding reports, news, stories, videos, photos relating human rights violations against women – rape, molestation, discrimination, witch-hunting and others will be created and uploaded in the websites. These will be used as evidences to claim for justice for the affected people by filing complaints with National Human Rights Institutions, courts and other duty bearers. Documented case will be published through internet and print-media.
What technologies and digital tools do you plan to use in the trainings?

Our organization CSNR has been coordinating a network of civil society organizations working on human rights based in remote areas . We conduct capacity building programmes for them on fact-finding, documentation, monitoring, reporting, complaint filing and advocacy. They are already engaged in monitoring of human rights violation. It will contribute in the success of the project for enhancement of HRD skills on ICT.
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
Thirty human rights defenders will be directly capacitated and hundred activists representing the civil society forum members will be indirectly capacitated. Five trained human rights defenders preferably women will be provided necessary hand-holding and on-field supports and guidances, so that they can be exposed to both theory and practice.
Besides the microgrant funding, what other resources and support are you seeking for your project to ensure its success?

– Link us with international resource organisations
– Link with other human rights and media networks
– Expose with national and international best practices
– Provide us with trainings of trainers and exposures
– If possible, provide us five advanced mobile handsets having devices camera, video recording
