Tribal rural isolated communities of West Bengal- Birbhum, Bankura, Purulia District-and adjacent Jharkhand State boarding West Bengal, are ironically have been teetering on the brink of subsistence. Our initiative that links primary producers to mainstream markets by organizing Workshops, Participating in Expos and Trade expositions and design a dynamic web-portal to exhibit their dexterous creative touch of artistry.

We, have designed to motivate the nomadic tribal communities with an appealing creation of their crafts and its exposition through Digital Story telling and their migrant nomadic culture with special emphasis on their cultural heritage and to make it more appealing to them we have used tribal participants in this innovative Digital Story Telling.

Describe the connections that you or your organization have already established that will contribute to the success of the project.
Our initiative-‘ Kabbey uekshita’- a soliloquy of rural artisans have organized workshops to promote their primitive crafts and culture. The Promotional program has been designed that the initial tasks involved are tracking the nomadic tribes through community participatory initiatives, to identify the feasible crafts potential beneficiaries.
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
The shaky ignorant stagnant community are not easily eager to mingle with the main stream of markets. They have their own culture to lead a nomadic life. We have identified the tribe community beneficiary with our dedicated team efforts and trying hard to mingle them with the mainstream of society and transform their socio-economic conditions .We have engaged 22 SHGs of women artisan in rural community to promote their crafts and creative product
Besides the microgrant funding, what other resources and support are you seeking for your project to ensure its success?
We have been provided with funds from Bharatiya Gramin Sewa Sangsthan, Vedanta Foundation, Kolkata, to promote our livelihood promotional program. To implement our proposed project to establish a common Facility Center to exhibit the crafts of tribal communities and rural artisans, we are seeing funds from Govt. and other NGO supporting organization.
