While implementing independent TV journalism, ISTV is willing to open and share its facilities, staff and experience in the favor of peripheral grassroots organizations, representing marginalized groups in the Arab-Israeli society; to teach and train chosen young representatives in the usage of old and new media tools to create authentic video contents and disseminate them through existing social network, in a series of 6 workshops.

What locality or neighborhood will your project focus on?
Bat-Yam
Describe the specific community with whom you will be working.
ISTV will address NGOs that we collaborate with on our routine alternative reporting. They will recommend community leaders who may best use media capacities to further usage within their underrepresented groups lacking the awareness and tools to use and basic equipment and social networks to tell their stories. ISTV’ that can't fulfill the mission of social change by itself will play as media hub for persistent workshop participants.
What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
ISTV's crew can't reach all worthy stories, especially not in the periphery, our reporters will never be able to tell a story like a community peer can. We hope that some of the stories produced during or resulting the workshop will be appropriate to be integrated in our weekly broadcast to reach relatively large audiences in Israel and abroad, who seek voices that are excluded by mainstream media because of their political or commercial agendas.
What technologies and digital tools do you plan to use in the trainings?
Describe the connections that you or your organization have already established that will contribute to the success of the project.
On Our daily practice we work with dozens of NGOs that represent minorities in Israel and the occupied Palestinian Territories working to promote social justice and regional peace. Meeting is an opportunity for them to get to know each other's uniqueness as well as realize the human common denominator that may have become blurred. Our partners for distribution like +972 magazine and TRNN are important too in amplifying the new voices and images.
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
ISTV can train 15 participants in a 6 months workshop that will include 6 group meetings and personal guidance in between. The motivation to participate must be theirs. What we add are the tools to come out from the workshop with at least one reportage produced with/by each participant to be used by them, creating a facebook page for their cause and using other relevant social platforms that we'll introduce and provide.
Besides the microgrant funding, what other resources and support are you seeking for your project to ensure its success?
“Planting the seeds of online community around the world” Rising Voices may go another step forward in connecting the separated seeds that succeeded to flourish in a worldwide plant of new voices that call for one peaceful world, promoting alternative to the centralized mainstream media coverage of areas and causes, creating synergy by promoting new partnerships and even co-productions to realize the high common human denominator.
