The project wishes to train professional community journalists who will run a community blog that will provide updates on news, events and projects within the community. The project aims to empower community members with professional journalism skills that will enable them cover and address their issues from their own perspective giving them the power to monitor their leaders and projects that are within their society through a blog.

Community journalists will write stories on conservation, pastoralism and livestock, profitable agricultural practices, political news that affect the community, community projects and their impacts, community leadership and control of the communal group ranch lands among other stories that affect the community

Arid Lands Information Network (http://alin.net/) has facilitated the project to train community members in basic journalism skills.
Nguruman Maarifa centre provides the internet through a router powered by the local mobile network(safaricom) the internet is not strong enough.
One student journalist from the community helps in editing and uploading the stories.
