The project aims to train 15 community members on capturing local environmental cultural practices and how to feed the outputs back to the community via blog posts, online videos, photos, news articles with the objective of empowering local communities. This intends to give voice to Taita community culture and bring them on the know about their eroding behavior patterns and perceptions that favour environmental conservation.

What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
The project will train the disabled and local youths (men and women) on how to use digital media to develop a blog, video documentaries, take photos, write articles and news updates on culture and environmental issues within their community. They will create awareness and showcase how cultural practices and other factors must all be integrated in order for conservation work to be fruitful.

Nature Kenya has been working with 10 schools and a local site support group of over 50 members in environmental education, biodiversity monitoring and research activities. Therefore Nature Kenya has a wealth of community based conservation and other social experience that will be useful in the effective implementation of this project.
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
5 disabled and 10 youths will be trained on how to use digital media to develop a blog,video documentaries,take photos and write articles on environmental issues.They will be resource persons in training other community members.Nature Kenya will be requesting them to submit articles for their monthly and quarterly magazines.They will also be running commercicial advertisement on the blog at a fee and throough public support
Besides the microgrant funding, what other resources and support are you seeking for your project to ensure its success?
Facilitation resources;Nature Kenya (the East Africa Natural history Society) will take an active part in the project implementation by providing, identification, and mobilization of community beneficiaries who will take part in the program. Nature Kenya's Site conservation officer on the ground will provide technical support and other resource persons who will assist in the training of the participants of this project.
