Web 2.0 for social change is a project that seeks to train rural youth on social media tools and its means of communication and networking. There is a need for local youth to connect, learn, share and understand the usage of social media tools; create and share with network after gaining said knowledge. the core training will be based on blogging, pod-casting, social networking and others media use by urban youth in communications

What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
The participants will create group or individual blogs, mailing group and social media pages ie: twitter or facebook, where they will hold meeting and share their stories and challenges; also this will serve as a bridge for a geographical divide of over 100 years. we are also hoping to create an sms platform through some GSM company to ensure sms group massaging for the participants.
What technologies and digital tools do you plan to use in the trainings?

We have requested partnership with Ushahidi Liberia to provide technical support to the project in terms of training and manpower; also started discussion with a mobile GSM company to grant us a 50 participants group sms chat waiver. we hope to get all these support in making our project a success for the lives of our rural peers.
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
The project will train 50 youth by its end in the usage of social media tools and other smart phone apps. We are hoping to get other civic and technological company or groups to sustained this project through funding for occurrence in another locations and network with old group for mentorship or motivations.
Besides the microgrant funding, what other resources and support are you seeking for your project to ensure its success?
If available, video testimony and online chat with participants during the training to see how the training is doing and serve as a motivating factor for them to be involved.
