This year we have worked with communities affected by incineration in cement plants, to identify alternatives to handling municipal solid urban waste, as part of the actions against incineration. This project proposes video documenting the process in these communities to implement zero waste plans in your town. Since the formation of cooperatives, to the work of recycling, collection and management of these wastes.

They work with three communities, where we are already moving in zero waste plans and do arise where a campaign of dissemination of these plans with the support of social networks, videos, news, blogs, podcasts, notes for community radio , among other mechanisms mediatic comunitatios
What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
The mission and vision of this project is that by using media tools, these communities can not only deliver their work in favor of sustainable management of waste, but also taking over the media for community and social use. Video is fundamental to this and so the project is proposed in a series of short documentaries about the process.
What technologies and digital tools do you plan to use in the trainings?
Describe the connections that you or your organization have already established that will contribute to the success of the project.
We work in collaboration with the Global Alliance for Incinerator Alternatives, Greenpeace, Free Radio, Rising Tide Mexico, Sons of Mother Earth, among other groups using free media as a vital part of their work. The support and promotion of our products to these groups will be an important part of success in the finished products of the project, as well as collaboration in the development of them.
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
In developing the videos, five people involved, but the total number of people in the communities that are developing zero waste plans are about 500 people from three communities involved.
Besides the microgrant funding, what other resources and support are you seeking for your project to ensure its success?
We are awaiting the response of two Mexican foundations to receive more funding for this project. FASOL is one and the other is the Global Human Rigths
