The valuable work of mexican NGO's is ignored by the on line media, we want to teach them how to use these tools to communicate their efforts and social impact, to create networks within the young citizens and motivate them to support their work. NGO's will be the authors of their narratives on a daily basis as a way to measure their resonance and visibility in modern society.
Topical focus:
Country:
What locality or neighborhood will your project focus on?
SAN LUIS POTOSÍ
Describe the specific community with whom you will be working.
We will be working with a local group of Civil Society Organizations NGO's that lack communication strategies and knowledge on the online media potential and opportunities
This makes them invisible to the modern society and unable to interact and communicate with the young audience that is actually more informed about the activities of international NGO's
Coaching them on online tools will relate them to society through image and accountability
What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
They will generate their own contents in products like:
Day to day achievements to sensitize the audiences.
Educational contents to change negative attitudes towards women, violence, intolerance, ecology, etc.
Testimonials with individual and contextual achievements to show the social problems they are working to solve.
These will be published online through social networks, blogs, web pages and will include digital photography and video
What technologies and digital tools do you plan to use in the trainings?
Describe the connections that you or your organization have already established that will contribute to the success of the project.
We are already coaching institutional development to a group of NGO's in San Luis Potosi that are also very interested in online strategies.
We have a web site and a Page in Facebook where we publish social contents . We have a strategic alliance with Centro Mexicano para la Filantropia that works with visibility experts and are extending our links with the local University of San Luis for technical support.
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
For the test pilot we're training 20 people out of 10 NGO's , we'll sign an agreement to coach them for a year and supervition if they compromise to work 20 hrs a month in their communication program. In the beggining they'll publish with CHAT SOCIAL on our website and at the end of the program they'll do it on their own pages, at the end they will get a bonus price for acomplishing their chores.
Besides the microgrant funding, what other resources and support are you seeking for your project to ensure its success?
Software that will help us develop several Webinars for the replication of the project in areas that are far away from us. Promoting the project in other Latinamerican countries where they have the same problem in communicating their efforts.
