Project intends to build the capacity of leaders of select slum communities in Lagos with basic media communication skills which they can use to share their plights & generate public support for development intervention in critical areas of social provisioning or aid improved living and
environmental condition. the capacity building will include training on using phone for taking pictures, twitting, Facebook, and relating with media.

What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
the project will use the people to tell their stories about their plight as
slum dwellers, showcasing their challenges, socio economic &
infrastructural needs, including the importance of them being members
& citizens of the larger society. The vision is to dispel the long
age stereotype belief that slum communities are a blight &
consist of people who are of no good to larger societies, thus
ameliorating conflict to aid development

Innate Communications is a media based firm with skills in the area of media
communications, writing/publishing operations &training facilitation.
The Organization has its core competence in media relationship &have
a robust association with journalists/media platforms as well as
with NGOs working on Community peace and conflict resolutions issues
such as PEACE AND DEVELOPMENT PROJECT, which it shall be partnering with
for the project.
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
The project shall train 10 participants each from from 5 semi slum and 5
full slum communities in Lagos state, totaling 20 persons. The
sustainability of the project is derived from using persons who are have
been proposed by the concerned communities, so the project is community
ownership content. Challenges and Successes of the project from the
full slum communities shall serves as pilot case studies for successes
for the semi slums
