The project seeks to train and support (Video Editing) community people audio and video resources to create advocacy videos and ways to share produced videos via the internet space using cost effective media capture and disseminating means. We seek to promote community rights through the use of video advocacy tools, increase in participatory fashion, community research, report and non-violent advocacy using short length videos.

What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
There will be production of Short Length advocacy videos on the origins of the slums, their daily life, issues affecting them and proposed solutions to the problems. we will also be making available an online social media forum on Facebook, and a video streaming pages on Vimeo for interactive blogging and video dissemination.

in 2009 a group of media activists began training community people and resident human rights defenders on video advocacy and production. Since then 150 people have been trained from waterfront (slum) communities in Port Harcourt. The Media for justice project also works in partnership with media organizations working with slum dwellers, they include CMAP, CEHRD, and community based groups in the urban slums.
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
We will be seeking to train 60 participants. these participants have already been involved in advocacy strategies been implemented in the past by the local and international organizations, facilitated by the Media for Justice Project.
Besides the microgrant funding, what other resources and support are you seeking for your project to ensure its success?
Provision of equipments (1 equipment to one Participant) to ensure success and high community participation, the equipment include Mobile phones with High camera resolutions for high quality footage gathering and extra batteries for the mobile phones for longer phone usage by the participants.
