The project aimed at giving socialmedia entrepreneurship training to people living with disabilities. they will learn how to use the various social media tools to conduct both social entrepreneurship and conduct advocacy to make their voices heard. The project will start with sensitization lectures among the target population before enrolled those motivated for the social media training. project would be deployed as social media lab.

KANO
Describe the specific community with whom you will be working.
The project will work with the members of Kano State Disable Traders Association. They have expressed interest to acquire ICT skills and participate in an online activities so that they can share ideas with other people around the world, they are being underrepresented at the moment. Kano has one of the largest concentration of people living with disabilities in Nigeria who have largely been marginalized and reduced to living by begging
What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
A major hindrance to to business activities of disabled people is mobility. with social media, they can engage in business activities without having need to move around, they could advert their services and goods easily and they could engage in advocacy to improve their lots. This major story is social media overcome challenges of disability. it will also highlight how this marginalized group are making efforts to be heard. it promotes inclusion
What technologies and digital tools do you plan to use in the trainings?

CITAD is already working with the Disabled Traders Association on capacity building in the area of entrepreneurship and this project will add value to it, and consolidate the gains of the entrepreneurship project. CITAD has the facilities and resources persons to carry out the training. It would deploy it mobile training lab to deliver the training at suitable locations for the beneficiaries
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
50 participants. To ensure sustainability, CITAD incorporates training of trainers for some of the members of the association so that they could continue to replicate the training to other members. In addition CITAD will leverage partnership with Computer Aid International to set up to set up a training centre for the association with which they would continue to train their members while CITAD would constantly monitor progress.
