Raising awareness and building understanding of (i) the potential of ICTs, particularly in the context of the vast numbers of people who are now able to connect in some way through mobile phones in Nigeria; (ii) democratic principles and practice; and (iii) the potential of ICTs for advancing democracy in Nigeria.
Our activities shall include Workshops/consultations on how strategic communications and the use of ICTs can enhance democracy.

50 NGOs and CBOs will be using their newly design website and social networking site for collaboration, sharing of information on agriculture, democratic issues, and SMS interface with blogs and SMS interface with live radio and television debate

We shall be working with the President of Civil Society Coalition to ensure that all the NGO that have been selected to participate take part in the training program.
The project will publish and freely disseminate 500 copies of an illustrated short booklet, with examples, of potential application of ICTs in enhancing democracy
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
50 Civil society organisations working in human rights, gender equality and monitoring of governance, democracy, agricultural development and human rights in the Niger Delta Region of Nigeria.
They will be train on the use of social networking sites for social justice and development activism, and building advocacy campaigns on a common issue.
