Cat fish aquaculture is a serious business in Ikorodu Lagos Nigeria with huge investment in infrastructure by the individual investors, World Bank and the Lagos State Government where more than twenty thousand jobs had been created. Utilizing ICT tools such as mobile phone, internet and social media will promote efficiency and profitability through information dissemination on market,timely alert of threat and knowledge sharing among farmers.

Describe the specific community with whom you will be working.
The specific target groups are the farmers, feed traders, the women who are selling both table fish and smoked fish. These groups are not represented online. I am interested in working with these groups because they need help seriously as a result of preventable loss emanated from epidemic, and sharing of information on opportunities and to eliminate unscrupulous activities of middlemen inform of fish sellers and sellers of fish meal
What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
The kind of news, stories and other content that will be created will include the available of opportunities such as cheap quality feed meals, availability of good market with good price, availability of technical support from government, development agencies such as FAO, UNDP, knowledge sharing among the farmers and dissemination of information about threats such as diseases and bad activities of the middle men to manipulate prices.

Currently I am a cat fish farmer; I interact and attend programmes with the other farmers. A farmer shared his bad experience with me how he loss all his fish due to the infections caused by contact with other fish. Also the undesirable activities of the cash fish buyers in offering very low price to the buyer whereby they sell to the general public at the prohibitive price in order to make huge profit and reaping more gains than the farmers
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
About 500 farmers will be trained on how to use social network media to share information especially share information about market situation, threat and knowledge sharing on the best practices and how to maximize profit and minimize costs. The strategy to sustain their participation is through innovative timely programmes and activities which will bring invaluable benefits to the members to enhance their efficiency and profitability in cat fish

The other resources and support that rising voices can provide to ensure the success of the project are the provision of technical support and information such as technical support on creation of website, how to create blog and effective way of using social media such as facebook,you tube, tweeter and other to share information
