This project will enable IDPs youth age 16-24 living in Camp and host communities to tell stories about themselves and their communities. By learning the documentary approach in photography, IDPs youth will create media products about their lives. Each participant will produce a piece of work, In addition, the participants will also be given a crash course on citizen journalism, allowing them to disseminate their works through the Internet.

The ongoing military operations in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) have led to a large scale displacement of local population across the region since 2009.This project is to create an enabling environment for the youth living in IDP camp and the off-camp host localities, so that the youth is self–dependent, productive and able to contribute to the efforts to minimize the miseries of displaced communities.
What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
40 IDPs youth will be trained in new media tools such as citizen journalism, photography with a clear focus on story outputs. This will develop and showcase their talents through documentary approach of photography. The news and photos of proposed project will be uploaded in on face book and flicker. This project will enable IDPs youth living to tell stories about themselves and their communities.
What technologies and digital tools do you plan to use in the trainings?

URDO has trained youth in new media tools, including audio storytelling, photography, and video storytelling. A network of trained youth has been formed. The trained IDPs youth under the propose project will be link with our existing youth network , where they can share their experience with the youth of host communities. URDO has experienced and qualified trainers.
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
40 IDPs youth -male & Female between the age of 16-25 living in Jalozai Camp Nowshera and living in host communities of Peshawar will be given specialized on hands training on media tools so that these youth are well capacitated and enabled to earn a livelihood if given an opportunity.
Besides the microgrant funding, what other resources and support are you seeking for your project to ensure its success?
URDO will need Four digital Cameras for The potential trainees and best participants identified during training session and three months stipend for atleast 3 IDPs best trainees in a print & Electronic media outlets.
