The project ‘Attire Base Youth Parliament’ will enable youth to use new media such as videos, and the internet to share their stories to the world. These youth will have the opportunity to discuss issues that impact them such as sports, to daily life of survival, to politics, economic and social issues that affect them and the country and document them online and via video media. These discussions are mature, sensible, sensitive and
debatable.

Describe the specific community with whom you will be working.
The youth make up 70% of the population in Sierra Leone. Many are still recovering from the ravages of a brutal civil war that ended in 2001. Unemployment continues to remain high. The Attire base shack is a gathering point for all categories of youth who commune to socialize and drink attire. Whilst they sip or drink the ‘attire’, youth talk on or about any subject in a flexible manner. Their voices remain underrepresented
What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
The youth will share their stories of living lives in post-conflict Sierra Leone. Their content will range from daily life and survivals, to education, health, unemployment, empowerment, poverty, Shift in thought processes, Self-love, healing of grief and anger, Compassion, courage and clarity, Self-awareness; access to greater consciousness,Move from reactive to inspired and empowered position, Transformation in personal energy.
What technologies and digital tools do you plan to use in the trainings?

The project is already made connections with the Ministry of Social welfare Gender and Children's Affairs, the youth at the ‘attire base’, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Alumni of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Fellows
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
There will be 75 participants trained in my project. The participation of the beneficiaries will be sustained in the following ways: through Connecting with the local and global
community, seeking partnerships with other like-minded organizations, we will continue to grow organically through the love and support of the global community, each Youth Community center will have computers and other digital devices to document and share stories
Besides the microgrant funding, what other resources and support are you seeking for your project to ensure its success?
Besides the microgrant funding,Rising Voices can provide the following resources and support for my project to ensure its success outcome. If possible technical support in the form of training manuals, resources and contacts of other related projects for possible collaboration, volunteers who are skilled in our various activities and who will like to come and share experiences and train our youth as well as those seeking internship.
