Disability issues in Sierra Leone still faces a lot of challenges in all sectors of the society. This makes it difficult for PWDs to enhance self- aggrandizement both as individual and in groups. Even with setting up of a Commission on disabilities they still lack basic to enjoy their rights equally with others. This project aims to increase the access of PWDs to information and create a forum to discuss their issues with duty bearers.

Persons with disabilities (PWDs) have long suffered discrimination in the socio-economic and political life of the society they equally belong. Even though some strides have been taken, Sierra Leone is yet to fully recognize the rights of PWDs as compared to non disable persons. 80% percent of PWDs today in Sierra Leona lives in deplorable housing condition. There is no national structure that guarantees the right of PWDs to public life.
What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
The news, stories and other content to be created will gear towards awareness raising of PWDs aspirations and needs, which will include:
a) PDWs inclusiveness in public life;
b) Health care services for PWDs;
c) Access to quality education and information for PWDs;
d) Equal job opportunity for PWDs;
e) Support for PWDs assistive materials and equipment

Computers and cell phones would be involve for both in country and outside interaction with partners
Describe the connections that you or your organization have already established that will contribute to the success of the project.
DW-SL has already created established connection with civil society organizations, persons with disability organizations, and the Human Rights Commission of Sierra Leone.
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
These partnerships with the aforementioned organizations will definitely contribute to the success of the project through information sharing, networking and collaboration in advocacy programme for the mainstreaming of PWDs into public life. The move to sustain their participation would start right from orientation and continous reminder of the importance of their roles in Making life pleasant for them sleve and other PWDs.
Besides the microgrant funding, what other resources and support are you seeking for your project to ensure its success?
Capacity building for DW-SL through linkage for resource mobilization strategy of how to sustain a larger on line social network.
