The name of the company is Imbali Multimedia Centre (IMC), an association, to be incorporated under Section 21. It was formed by a group of young people some time back due to their concerns on crime, social injustice and disengagement between communities and the council within the Govan Mbeki area. This corporate association will for the purpose of its Communication business undertakings, comprises of subsidiaries; Imbali FM, Imbali Newspaper.

What locality or neighborhood will your project focus on?
Secunda
Describe the specific community with whom you will be working.
The target group will be youth, women, and community leaders, activists, from the area and district of Gert Sibande region, Secunda and the rural outskirts. Most of the target group, women, youth and elderly, never used these gadgets to the fullest and this opportunity will provide light on how best they can benefit from them. There are cross cutting issues we will be talking about and they are; climate change, HIV/AIDS., youth development.
What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
The project will through social networks, cell-phone, and digital cameras show news of the community in relation to their daily lives; access to basic service, health, and social security (grants). It will be a platform for engagement with politician and policy makers in an amicable way; no confrontations. The current state of affairs is that women, youth and the elderly are being excluded in the economic mainstream even when they are citizens.

Describe the connections that you or your organization have already established that will contribute to the success of the project.
This will be done as part of extended strategic partners in this bid. This includes churches, stokvel groups, youth associations, Human Rights organization (chapter 9), HIV/AIDS support groups, and any other organization dealing with large number of beneficiaries and or recipients. The social welfare will provide a database which will assist in this pursuit of working with civil society and community leadership. The major task is to bring locals.
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
We are hoping to reach out to at least 20 000 people, including the communities in the rural areas. They would receive training on communication, use of the devices, and process to making or recording voice for comments and inputs that are fair and unbiased, intellectual debate and making informed decision. These tools are not to wage a war against authorities but raise awareness of social pressing issues thus users need to mind language they use
Besides the microgrant funding, what other resources and support are you seeking for your project to ensure its success?
The other sources we are looking at is, SABC media programs, business people in the areas, taxi association, and government departments dealing with communication. We are aware that the government is developing a ICT and Disability framework which women and youth squarely forms part of, and we would ask then to co-fund this award. This includes local government grant in aid funds. local, regional and international donors would be approached.
