Deaf people in the Coast Region of Tanzania didn't engage in HIV/AIDS counseling and testing knowing their health status due to communication barrier between them and health experts in the VTC, health centers, village dispensaries and hospitals. Experts didn't know how to communicate with deaf people by using sign language. To tackle the problem project will conduct sign language training to health experts. To bridge gap of communication

What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
Vision of the content will show how HIV/AIDS counselors and other health
workers communicate with deaf people by using sign language soon after
getting training on sign language. Participants will make news and stories through photograph and short video pictures showing how now health experts mingle with deaf people and make advocacy which before was very difficult due to communication barrier.

Planning and Coordinating Community Resources (PCCRngo) work in close with
Association of the deaf people in the Coast Region. Organization cooperate with deaf people in preparation of deaf people strategic plan as an existing partnership. PCCRngo has established in the districts and at the region since operating at national level where by health sector includes. So there is mutual working relationship between NGO and government institutions
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
Train 49 deaf people on how to take digital photo and video during counseling and advocacy process between them and health experts. Deaf have their own organization known as Tanzania Association of the deaf Coast Region branch (TAD), within association there is deaf clubs whereby all deaf are members. PCCRngo will work with deaf association and clubs during training to seek their full involvement in using equipments.
Besides the microgrant funding, what other resources and support are you seeking for your project to ensure its success?
By providing technical support on how to records those video and link them online so that be viewed by the rest of the world. Also equipments especially modern shooting cameras that will take the whole view of the event. We like more to be visited by Rising Voices experts and teach us more on how deaf people will use online since deaf are neglected in the community and building their capacity to use online will make them connected easily globally
