Young Green Bloggers is the project designed to train youth members from Tanzania Youth Environmental Network (TAYEN) to use online and social media communication channels including facebook, twitter and YouTube. The project will train 20 youth from secondary schools and Universities on how to create and use social media to educate and increase awareness on climate change problem and environmental conservation to other youth in Tanzania.

What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
Through this project, trained youth will create Facebook pages, Twitter Accounts and Youtube accounts that will mainly focus on awareness raising and education on environmental and climate change problem in Tanzania. Monthly articles and news will be posted in these social media accounts and various youth online discussions will be held to educate youth in climate change and environmental conservation.

TAYEN as a youth led NGO has extensive network of youth across Tanzania. Its youth network is built on the existing Youth Environmental Clubs that TAYEN has in primary schools, secondary schools and Universities in Tanzania. Through partnerships with schools and local youth NGOs, TAYEN will reach more youth in and out of schools through this project.
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
The project seek to train 20 youth, 10 from secondary schools and 10 from Universities. 10 youth from University of Dar es Salaam( UDSM) and Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) will be recruited for this project and training purposes.
Besides the microgrant funding, what other resources and support are you seeking for your project to ensure its success?
If possible TAYEN will appreciate to receive support for one or two laptops and digital cameras that can be used in project training activity. The Laptops and Cameras will be used as Office facilities to facilitate project activities especially on posting news, stories and articles online to youth across Tanzania.
