Palestine: Write for Women's Rights

From our experience in the Women's Consultations Unit, we have heard and recorded many stories about the violations against women in the Palestinian society. We want through our project to train a number of 20 social media activists who are going to produce social media content (Photo essays, blogs, audio recordings, and videos) about these women. 30 training hours will be giving and training manual will be distributed.

This is a survivor driven public education project to use frequently used trafficking recruitment scams to empower children susceptible to trafficking to stay safe. 25 passionate young activists shall be trained to use podcast, blogs and sms to share true life stories on child trafficking and exploitation in domestic servitude, street hawking, street begging & commercial sex industry as a way of deterring others from falling prey to trafficking.

India: Voice of Voiceless Dalits for Development

DASHRA will work with an indigenous Dalit community to teach and encourage new generations to begin to use social Media to connect with others as a way to preserve and promote their native language online. Partnering with a local CSO, CBOs with a computer lab to invite community members to discuss local problems and solutions, and train them how to create a group blog to take these conversations to the wider community.

This project will offer trainning on ICT and Internet to equip participants with the knowledge and abilities of using the different online communication tools by creating websites, facebook accounts, twitter and the rest for sharing information and connecting to the wide world. Participants will then use the knowldge to carry out Advocacy campaigns on the different networks to bring changes in their communities.

The project seeks to let the voice of native language speaking ethnic groups and towns that have no representation on the web, start being heard and seen on a global scale. The plan is to train a group composed by translators of the particular language and youngsters of the community in audiovisual storytelling and the use of social networks. This methodology will enable attendees to replicate the experience with other community members.

Using digital recorders, videocamera, camera, software from Audacity, Gimp and Windows Movie Maker. The audios, videos & images obtained & processedwill be uploaded to the network in an account of Facebook, Twitter, Youtube & a blog that will be created.

I'd like to record (photo, video and sound) small groups of people that live near to the city (El Alto – An Andean City). They are cualified because they (older than sixty) live up to now, thanks to their native music. In other words, my ancestors keep our native culture thanks to the native music and they can teach us. I hope to accomplish these native groups share (through interactive communication) their reasons, characteristics, symbology.

In Bangladesh, rape has become daily affairs and people are not getting any justice. We want to train youths regarding these affairs so that Learned Youth Groups are blogging and they know to how to blog for these Human Rights issue for awareness

We are proposing to work with a team of community radio operators to integrate their ongoing work, particularly as community news gatherers, with online and offline mobile-based technologies such as SMS and Twitter, taking advantage of not only the community radio station, but also the independent, community-operated GSM base-station that provides free cellular service to the townspeople and an interesting platform on which to try new ideas.
