This project is focused on the rural farmers in akpabuyo Local Government Area of Cross river state, Nigeria.We will be engaging/training farmers to make use of their mobile phones to share knowledge and for dissemination of information such as; market opportunities/prices, grants, farming inputs etc.Special Google mail account will be created to send SMS across on government and private sector innovations for rural farmers to their mobile phones

Nigeria: Our Special Needs and Deeds

This will be a multimedia documentary on both the talents and challenges faced by special needs pupils of Omoyeni School for the Handicapped, a boarding school in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. Some of the pupils have been abandoned in the school by parents/guardians. We shall train the pupils on how to shoot simple videos/pictures and produce podcasts.

Peru: Communicating from our Palenques Kids the World

The children and adolescents of rural Afro-Peruvian communities suffer from a real foreclosure conditioned by its geographical location and its very economic poverty. The project will provide tools to enter the world press, through training programs in the use of communication in four children Palenques community. They publish the material produced in community public websites, so there is this entry to the world.

Uganda: Platform for Disabled Women in Sexual Reproductive Health

It will help to train PWDs i.e. Women and girls on how to advocate for their rights in the Health and Education Sector and on the challenges they face through public dialogues, how to use the internet to seek audience and also bring out their views in News papers. And in the end they will be able to come out to stand for their rights through Public Community Awareness.

Brazil: Capoeira Education in Global Media

Our project is to create a video of five minutes or so, about capoeira (Brazilian martial art). Students themselves will make the video using video cameras and photographs being what they are trained to do so and later disseminate the video inserting the same site www.pratiquecologia.org, twitter, facebook and flickr. Since students will also be trained in handling these social networking tools.

Macedonia: Wild Herbs Exchange Network

Macedonia is a country with lush nature and a large number of medicinal herbs and teas. People that live in remote villages have a natural remedy for every ailment but they have very little contact with the rest of the world. We plan to educate these people on the importance in sharing this knowledge by exchange of information and cures using the internet. We will also ask young bloggers to photograph and write about these wild herbs.

Croatia: New Voice of Old School

The everyday use of new media is nowadays taken for granted by all young people but for older adults, however, it is not so common. The project aims to provide older adults with knowledge of using new technology, especially internet so they can establish on line participation on issues that affect them (e.g. e-democracy). In this way they will increase social contact and reduce feelings of isolation so they feel more integrated into the society.

Zimbabwe: ‘I’ Stories Healing Cafe – Rising above Student Activism

The project seeks to equipp student activists with relevant blogging skills which would enable them to share their experiences as the vanguard of student rights. Many student activists in Zimbabwe have experienced police brutality while some have been expelled from pursuing their studies and these experiences have left many hopeless and disoriented. Through I stories they will express their anger and frustrations as a healing process and move on.

Pakistan: Social Rehabilitation of CSEC

Commercially, sexually exploited children-CSEC are those children who are sexually exploited & then they become teen age sex workers. CSEC are not born but made by the society who are highly stigmatized & socially isolated. This project will provide social rehabilitation & awareness to 50 CSEC to enter the main life streaming by sharing their stories using blogs, digital photography, digital videos, mobile phones, social networking.

China: Engaging Digital Tibet: Qinghai

The project will provide young Tibetan students with cameras, photography and web training where they will engage in their local culture by photographing Tibetan material heritage. The photos data will be written by the students and put on a public interactive database. The goal is to inspire Tibetans in China to document and share their rapidly disappearing material heritage with the rest of the world through online photos and articles.
