This is a mobile based information dissemination platform where information regarding Gender based violence against women can be shared directly into individual woman's handset and similarly, the recipient can reply to these messages to make her contributions on the issues reported. This short message service will then be linked directly to our organization's website and face book plus twitter pages to be shared to the global world.
Kenya: Operation SGBV out!
As a result of the unprecedented growth, affordability and coverage of mobile telephony in Kenya, we propose to anchor to it SGBV prevention and survivor support. Efforts to address and reduce SGBV within communities, principally among men and boys remain dismal. There is a need to go innovative, smart and large scale. We see a mobile phone as a tool for community mobilization, reporting, whistle blowing, advocacy/lobbying, and survivor support
