SignWeb will be a website for the Deaf in Turkey and other countries, featuring latest news and advancements in the Deaf World, a resource center for the Deaf, Turkish and International Sign Languages videos, and social network for the Deaf Community (which includes hearing people who know sign language.) SignWeb content would be created at our association's center, with participation by our Deaf teachers and students, and web designer.

What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
We would provide video and written resource content, explained above. As well, we envision blogs, comments, and additional resource information to be provided by our online participants, which will provide a much wider source of information, education, and networking than is currently available online.
What technologies and digital tools do you plan to use in the trainings?

The Turkish Ministry of Developement funded our own Deaf Education Center in 2012, teaching Turkish Sign Language, as well as vocational and literacy classes for Deaf children and young people. We have connections with the Turkish Deaf Federation, local associations, and with deaf schools internationally. These connections would aid in establishing a broad base of participants.
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
There is great interest in learning Turkish Sign Language among the hearing & Deaf population in Turkey. We anticipate around 2,000 online participants to start with, which can grow to 20,000 in Turkey, and more internationally, through promoting the site on existing social networks (FB, YouTube, Twitter). Both Deaf and hearing people could benefit from the resource sharing and social network available on the site.
Besides the microgrant funding, what other resources and support are you seeking for your project to ensure its success?
The most important supports besides funding would be online promotion internationally of the site, as well as tips from other successful Rising Voices projects.
