The Enviromenatl Protection Promotion project is a project intented to sesetise the local community of kamuli district about the advancages of a safe and clean environment through the youth. Kamuli district being a rural district with 80 % of the population are farmers who distirt tyhe environment by defforestration, need to be senseticsed about the advandages of environmental prorection.

The project will train the local youth on how to use digital media to capture video documentaries take photos, write articles, Newsletters/ Magazines and blogs on environmental related issues within their communities. Hence creating awareness on the advantages of a good and clean environment

HORD is working with the District community development department, District education department, Youth Alive, District Environmental management department in implementing the project through providing, identification and mobilization of participants. HORD has conducted a needs assessment survey and has previously worked with this community on human rights and peace building training therefore we have a reasonable experience that will be useful
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
The project intends to train 20 local literates and semi- literates and those who are currently enrolled in schools youths both women and men on how to use digital media and to develop blogs, video documentaries, take photos, write articles and newsletters/ Magazines and bulletins updates on environmental related issues within their respective communities in Kamuli district. Besides the microgrant funding, what other resources and support are you seeking for your project to ensure its success?
HORD in partnership with the will take an active role in the implementation of this project through provision, identification, and mobilization of community youth who will take part in the programme. Our local partners like Youth Alive, District Environmental management department, Kamuli district community development department will provide resource person(s) who will assist in the training of the participants of the project.
