We want to carry out a media news project in Wakiso district where the development for Schools, people, and entire rural communities is affected by poverty caused by diverse problems. St Vianney Junior School Parents Association proposed to gather and document the problems that affect rural communities of Wakiso with the concept of sharing them with other people through social network support agents and mobile phones with a view to find solutions

What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
Photographic and narrative stories shall be covered about the plight of communities where there are no water supplies, school children carrying water on their heads in containers of 2o liters, degraded land and environment. Other stories to cover the poor livelihood conditions such as poor shelter, poor sanitations, poor learning conditions and facilities in rural schools, the long distances women have to travel to get to maternity centers.

We have made application to Warid telecommunication company to use their network as our media news correspondence and mobile phones. We are partnering with the Rotary Club of Kampala/Ssese to negotiate development strategies for our association and entire community.
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
The project shall train 24 participants to be selected from 24 parishes and 6 from the association. Parishes consist of 6-9 villages. One person can get news and easily cover events from the villages using a mobile phone with a camera. They will need to be facilitated with a mobile phone with a camera to run the news and stories coverage. When the news is received, the association administrator will use the internet e-mail and blog for sharing.
