Maganjo Farmers Association (MAFA) works with rural farming communities in Luwero District. Through this project, MAFA would like the farmers to get an avenue through which to communicate on how they manage to increase farm production and household incomes to reduce on poverty cycle. We will capture the work of these farmers through photography and create an online gallery which we want to act as an inspiration to digital media world.

MAFA will work with rural farming communities in Luwero District.
Currently no story sharing with the world despite the presence of digital media in the near by trading centers. Reasons for farmers to be underrepresented online are innovation being reached by only the literate, expensive internet services and viewing innovation as luxury. Through this project, we seek to sensitize and open the farmers to online world too and share with others
What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
Maganjo Farmers Association (MAFA) ‘ vision for this request is to create stories of how agriculture has transformed the lives of the people we are working with from poverty cycles to living descent livelihoods i.e. with increased household food security and incomes. These learning, informing or teaching stories will be pictorial with captions to explain them. We envisage inspiration to communities that will foster ideas in practicing agriculture

Describe the connections that you or your organization have already established that will contribute to the success of the project.
Maganjo Farmers Association (MAFA) is already working with the farming communities in Luwero District with over 12,600 beneficiaries. So the changes that have occurred in the lives of the rural farmers is that we would like to capture into the online community and share it with others in the world
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
70 participants are targeted and will be provided with knowledge in using social networks and photography to tell the unknown stories of the rural farmers to others. After, they will be in position to operate on the online digital spaces and act as scouts to fetch out success stories from the communities. Regular progress monitoring and scout mentoring will be conducted throughout the project life time to ensure sustainability when project ends
