We aim to train over 120 youth and children in computer literacy so that they can be exposed to the outside world as its said the world is ‘a global village’. By training the youth in computer applications we will cover some missing gaps in the education sector.
We intend to promote positive cultural practices and good morals for economic development. The greatest population here are computer illiterates and 80% are youth.

YEO hopes to train over 120 youth both in school and out of school excluding the indirect beneficiaries.
I personally as the director of this organization have a story based on computer literacy, ‘ i got a job because of my knowledge on computer besides my profession as a social worker’, i want others to acquire the skill and be competent like me and others have managed to make it.
What technologies and digital tools do you plan to use in the trainings?
Describe the connections that you or your organization have already established that will contribute to the success of the project.
We are linked to organizations dealing with education like FAL/IGA Department in Caritas Kotido, UGAADEN, Wipolo Health Advocacy and these organizations can help us in the success of the project because we do work in the same sector and more so within the same location but tackling different aspects of life.
We have an office space in Abim District.
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
We aim at training over 120 youth of age group 15-35 years old either in school or out of school.
With the idea of sustainability, since its there interest i see that it will be sustainable hence participation will not be a problem.
We use a bottom up approach in development that's why we see sustainability and participation as not being a problem.
Besides the microgrant funding, what other resources and support are you seeking for your project to ensure its success?
1. Computers,photocopiers,printers.
2. Opportunities for exposure visits.
3. Provide novels and other books for the library besides computer literacy
4. Help support with a public address system to support in conducting outreaches on domestic violence, sexual and reproductive health and HIV/AIDS.
5. Connect us with other scholarship opportunities for the youth who have lost hope due to financial constraints.

I am very please about this initiative because people in this part of the world (Karamoja where Abim is one of the districts)are over 86% illiterates.
My appeal is to Raising Voices to help consider the remote areas like the above mostly in adaption of ICT’s a gap in the education sector being undermined unyet its useful.

Am grateful for this youth organisation, i wish this idea could be accepted to be funded by Raising Voices, Karamoja is in a poor state.
Raising Voices Computer is seen as gold in this area(rarely seen and used) , using it is only for the employed and the few who can afford, SO SUPPORT YOUTH EDUCATION ORIENT TO IMPLEMENT THIS PROJECT.
