Provide Local Networks comprised seven communities and local institutional actors Risk Management, an interactive digital media (Blog) to disseminate and share experiences in successful community disaster reduction caused by hydrometeorological, geological and social. Disaster reduction has limited coverage in Venezuela and online communities have no access to interactive digital media to enable them to tell their stories on disaster reduction. It will work with communities in seven cities: Caracas, Barquisimeto, Maracay, Valera, Merida, Maracaibo and Guanta. These communities are highly vulnerable to disasters and are organized in Local Area Networks Risk Management
What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
Be promoted among communities and organized institutional actors in Red, the collection and recording of testimonies, news, photos, videos, experiences, materials documenting good practices on Disaster Reduction, to feed regularly and thereby strengthen Community Blog collective learning. Through the blog is collected assessments and evaluations on the usefulness of the disclosed practices.

We are members of the Global Network of Civil Society for Disasters Reduction, and drive projects to measure the progress of the Hyogo Framework for Action and building resilience of communities to disasters. The Blog will strengthen the 7 Local Networks, building resilience and publicize the Venezuelan experience in disaster reduction in the international arena.
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
Involved about 70 people belonging to the 7 Local Networks Risk Management, who will be trained in the management, updating and disseminating the blog. Being an unconventional means for disseminating community experiences, is expected to motivate the incorporation of students (geography, computer science, engineering) to provide knowledge and tools useful for the purposes of the project and ensure its continuity.
Besides the microgrant funding, what other resources and support are you seeking for your project to ensure its success?
Risk Management, Disaster Reduction, building community resilience, are little known issues and handled by traditional media. Hence the Rising Voices platform provides an opportunity and an important platform to widely disseminate and exchange community experiences on these issues.
