The undertaking will see the training of youths on how to use online media tools to achieve their human rights activism and promote greater civic participation. Experts on citizen media shall be invited to make deliberations. And this shall benefit the youths and their communities through attaining clear knowledge on online media tools and link with the global world.Such a project will promote effectiveness in promoting democracy,justice and peace

What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
Our endeavor is to see a well informed youth,utilizing online media technology to promote human rights ,good governance, peace, democratic development and growth, and telling their own story on these. An appreciation by the youths of the effectiveness and efficiency of online media tools will be the result of the project .Participants will have a clear knowledge of online media tools hence accelerate their activities in respective thematic area
What technologies and digital tools do you plan to use in the trainings?

For the 5 years that we have been in existence,we have worked with organizations such as ZLHR,that assisted us with legal support for members unlawfully prosecuted.CSU also provided counseling and rehabilitation support for our members who under went gruesome police harassment and arbitrary arrests.Diakonia trained our members on capacity development.We are working with HARA on this project.We are planning to incorporate RAU on this project.
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
600 youths will participate,400 from our organization and 200 from others to cut down costs.The participants who are certainly our Area Coordinators will act as ambassadors to benefit the whole community.Non members,drawn from sister organizations shall pay a participation fee, which amount will cover auxiliary costs.Participants shall be sought either through invitation or adverts in various media channels.
Besides the microgrant funding, what other resources and support are you seeking for your project to ensure its success?
We will appreciate any support in terms of resource material on citizen media tools,to boost our knowledge.Success stories from other parts of the global world will be of great benefit to our organization, for they shall be our source of inspiration.Project materials such as a video camera and lap top will be of great benefit in ensuring project success.
