The zimcharities.com project aims to form a network of local NGOs or charity organisations who are working in rural zimbabwe and have limited access to the top of the range ICT technology. The zimcharities.com will be basically a website where the local NGOs will be incorporated as members of the network. This will show case the activities of these NGOs and the local communities thereby providing the digital media for the underpriviledged.

What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
The NGOs and CBOs and also people from the wards or villages will create stories, videos, images on the charity works in their respective areas. This will come in form of competitions, nominees and case studies from the member NGOs and local communities. It will also have the directory of the local NGOs in Zimbabwe and the gateway system for donations.
What technologies and digital tools do you plan to use in the trainings?

Saveteck Solutions has already developed partnerships with other local NGOs including DACHCare, ZIFDAD and NANGO. There are workshops and meetings lined up in the coming weeks to get a wider network.
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
Zimcharities.com aims to train more that 500 participants from NGOs and 750 participants from local communities. These will get a basic training in ICT including internet.
Besides the microgrant funding, what other resources and support are you seeking for your project to ensure its success?
There could be need for technocal support mainly on the creation of the forum for the interation of our member organisations and also the genaral public. It could be of great help marketing our project online so as to reach the wider coverage.

Dear Tawanda, Your idea is very welcome, as NGOs operating in Masvingo we welcome it. But go beyond the NANGO Directory some of us are not in that directory for various reasons.
